Dental bonding makes use of the same white filling material that is used to fill cavities. For this procedure, the dentist first determines the correct shade of white filling to use. Several thin layers of white filling are built up onto the tooth, and a blue light is used to harden each layer. Final steps include shaping and polishing the material so that the finished tooth looks natural and smooth.
